February News

Thank you to everyone who made it to the Principal and President Coffee Talk! And thank you verve coffee for providing coffee! ☕️ For those that couldn’t make it, here are some highlights:

New PE equipment is on order but in the meantime, PE could use some sports equipment. You can bring any donated items (balls, etc) to the main office.

Round Table (sponsor of our BKEC Restaurant Nights) now offers gluten free crust! 🍕

We are in need of a new Mileage Club lead. (This is a running club for kids). The current lead has a 5th grader and will be graduating this year from BK so time to pass the torch! 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏃

Our awesome librarian is opening up the library for alternative play during lunch and BK is working on opening up additional club like activities during lunchtime in the future.

The importance of daily attendance as that is how our school is funded. If a child is at school for a minimum of 15 minutes the school gets funding for that child that day

We need to send letters to our local and state leaders with our desire for smaller class sizes and more funding.

We will be working with the high school and a local church to paint a buddy bench for the upper playground and build more kinder benches for after school pick-up.

We had a wonderful collaboration of ideas with everyone sharing to help make our school community better.

Save the date of Saturday March 7th as a school and community campus care day.

We had such a great time we’ll do another one in late spring. It’s a great open forum to get to know your principal and find out ways to improve the educational experience for your child.

Sincerely,
Marina Eyre
Your PTO President
