Fall Newsletter October 2020

Fall has arrived!  Students are getting into their groove with online learning and BKEC has been working hard to get the Online Garden and Online Music Lessons ready for enrichment activities in the classroom.  Hopefully, your student received their Art-In-Action supply kit and we look forward to the Online Art lessons.  We are so appreciative of our awesome classroom aides who support our students’ learning on a daily basis.

Here are some updates.

Our Direct Donation Drive raised $24,000!  Thank you so much to all of our families who participated. We have nearly reached our goal of $25,000.

The Track & Field is officially open after school hours!  Please leave your dogs at home as they are not allowed on campus at any time, but bring your children and remember to social distance if other families are using the track & field at same time.

Missed the Custom Ink Spirit Wear sale?  Don’t worry, we now have our online spirit wear store up and running with zip hoodies, baseball-style t-shirts, and pink t-shirts!  The new store will be running throughout the year and everything is shipped directly to you.  Visit https://bkec.info/store/ to order your school spirit. Thank you Alison Deane for making this happen.

Miss seeing friends?  We are providing a safe community event for children and families to come together and have fun. BKEC is hosting a special Brook Knoll Drive-In Movie Night at the Boardwalk on Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30pm. Buy tickets at https://bkecinfo/events

We are in full swing with our Drive for Schools fundraiser.  We have raised $3,800 already and are well on our way to reach our $10,000 goal.  Remember, for every packet of tickets your child sells they will be entered into a special BK drawing to win two Disneyland Hopper Tickets.  You can drop off your sold raffle tickets in the office (and you can pick up more too). Make sure your child’s name is on each pack of tickets sold to be entered into the drawing. The deadline is October 21st. Email bkdriveforschools@gmail.com if you have any questions.

BKEC endorses Measure A and we encourage BK Families to do so as well.  We desperately need new playground equipment, parking lot renovations, and a multipurpose room!
